Barrierboard, a revolutionary Australian-made patented plasterboard composite product by Soundblock, has been designed to maximise sound reduction between rooms and the outdoors. The SoundBlock® Aluminium Window System is a double glazing system to reduce noise transmission and improve energy efficiency through existing windows by up to 70%. It is simple to use, and is not visible from outside.

Benefits of the Soundblock® Magnetic Window System

• The Soundblock® Magnetic Window System will isolate the original window from your new secondary window, preventing noise transmission by vibration. The thin profile of the magnetic window will maximise the airgap created for soundproofing, and improved thermal efficency.
• These windows can be made to slide to one side, allowing easy access to the original window for air flow, etc.
• The Soundblock® Magnetic Window System has been tested by a NATA registered laboratory. The laboratory testing has confirmed that when an existing window is equipped with the appropriate Soundblock® configuration, its sound attenuation performance will be dramatically improved, and you will hear a sginficant difference.

With our acoustic timber doors, results are achieved by adding density and ensuring all gaps are tightly sealed. To soundproof your aluminium sliding door, we use a retro-fit glazing system. We combine your sliding door with the Soundout sliding door to create a double-glazed system that effectively reduces noise transmission. Acoustic door seals are easy to install and are adjustable. These seals considerably reduce the intrusion of any noise and air movement.

Ceilings

Loud impact noises can cause overwhelming sound intrusion through the ceiling of a home. This can include noise from televisions, home stereos, pets, children, and external elements.  The process for soundproofing ceilings is very similar to that of walls; Soundblock’s Barrierboard product can be installed as the primary ceiling material, or as a retrofit onto an existing ceiling.

At Cosywrap, we remove any old insulation and fit high-density Soundscreen or Fibertex Rockwool insulation onto the ceiling. These products are between 3-8 times denser than standard insulation. However, this may not be sufficient by itself. We then lay Wavebar, a high-performance, flexible mass-loaded vinyl noise barrier, above the timber joists to create a far superior acoustic barrier. This process has been successfully used on many homes near the Adelaide airport to stop aircraft noise, or alongside busy roads to eliminate vehicle noise.
