Overview

Many homeowners suffer from excessive noise from external elements, such as traffic, neighbours, and train lines. Utilising products from Soundblock Solutions, Cosywrap has been helping SA residents solve their noise problems across a range of applications. There are also options for people who find even their own family or housemates too much to bear! So whether you’ve got noisy teenagers at home, or you want to eliminate the sound of the busy main road, we can help you find a solution. Additionally, soundproofing goes hand in hand with insulation, assisting with minimising overall energy use by reducing airflow through the walls or ceiling.

Walls

Barrierboard, a revolutionary Australian-made patented plasterboard composite product by Soundblock, has been designed to maximise sound reduction between rooms and the outdoors. Together with our acoustic insulation, Barrierboard can improve a room’s acoustics by as much as 75%! The unique polyester sandwiched within the products helps to stop noise vibrating through walls. It can be easily installed and fixed onto an existing wall. It is a complete solution that has been independently tested to prove it stops noise. Sound from music, street noise, and noisy kids will be eliminated, or significantly reduced, allowing you to reclaim your peace!

No matter what your sound issue, the friendly team at Cosywrap will be able to suggest the best solution for you. After completing an assessment of your home and environment, they will be able to recommend which area of your home will best benefit from soundproofing; whether it be your walls and windows, or your ceiling and between floors. Get in touch with our soundproofing experts to learn about how we can restore peace and quiet to your home.

Windows

Benefits of the SoundBlock® Aluminium Window System

The SoundBlock® Aluminium Window System is a double glazing system to reduce noise transmission and improve energy efficiency through existing windows by up to 70%. It is simple to use, and is not visible from outside.

Other features are:

  • Custom designed to suit all existing applications
  • Acoustically tested as a secondary glazing unit with 100mm air space using 6.38mm laminated glass. The Rw rating is approximately 41dB.
  • Available to take up to 10mm safety glass
  • Specialized acoustic seals on all moving parts
  • Powder coated aluminium
  • Easy access for air flow and cleaning
  • Suited for homes, units, offices, hospitals and other buildings
  • Easy to install
  • Conditional 7-year warranty

Benefits of the Soundblock® Magnetic Window System

  • The Soundblock® Magnetic Window System will isolate the original window from your new secondary window, preventing noise transmission by vibration. The thin profile of the magnetic window will maximise the airgap created for soundproofing, and improved thermal efficency.
  • These windows can be made to slide to one side, allowing easy access to the original window for air flow, etc.
  • The Soundblock® Magnetic Window System has been tested by a NATA registered laboratory. The laboratory testing has confirmed that when an existing window is equipped with the appropriate Soundblock® configuration, its sound attenuation performance will be dramatically improved, and you will hear a sginficant difference.
  • The Magnetic window will create an excellent thermal break, allowing you full thermal benefits without paying for expensive new double glazed windows.

Doors

Block out noise to get a better night sleep with Cosywrap’s door soundproofing solutions by Soundblock. In addition to thermal control, our door soundproofing solutions can reduce noise transmission by up to 70%. We’re able to soundproof your home by installing one of three options:

  • Acoustic timber doors
  • Acoustic aluminium sliding doors
  • Acoustic door seals.

With our acoustic timber doors, results are achieved by adding density and ensuring all gaps are tightly sealed. To soundproof your aluminium sliding door, we use a retro-fit glazing system. We combine your sliding door with the Soundout sliding door to create a double-glazed system that effectively reduces noise transmission. Acoustic door seals are easy to install and are adjustable. These seals considerably reduce the intrusion of any noise and air movement.

Our soundproofing experts at Cosywrap will recommend the best door soundproofing solution for your environment, needs and budget. It is now easier than ever before to reduce noise levels between rooms, from traffic and noisy neighbours. We will install the solution efficiently, so you can enjoy complete peace and quiet.

Ceilings

Loud impact noises can cause overwhelming sound intrusion through the ceiling of a home. This can include noise from televisions, home stereos, pets, children, and external elements.  The process for soundproofing ceilings is very similar to that of walls; Soundblock’s Barrierboard product can be installed as the primary ceiling material, or as a retrofit onto an existing ceiling.

At Cosywrap, we remove any old insulation and fit high-density Soundscreen or Fibertex Rockwool insulation onto the ceiling. These products are between 3-8 times denser than standard insulation. However, this may not be sufficient by itself. We then lay Wavebar, a high-performance, flexible mass-loaded vinyl noise barrier, above the timber joists to create a far superior acoustic barrier. This process has been successfully used on many homes near the Adelaide airport to stop aircraft noise, or alongside busy roads to eliminate vehicle noise.

It is often a combination of products that are required to stop high and low-frequency noise. If you’re not sure where to start, contact the friendly team at Cosywrap! We guarantee to find the best ceiling soundproofing solution for you, every time.
